“Il Cannone Silver are definitely Soloist material. This new set delivers what the name suggests: A silvery, clear tone.”
Josef Špaček – “LeBrun; Bouthillard” Guarneri del Gesù (1732)

Our founder, Laurits Th. Larsen, designed and produced our first string from his home garage. The original machine used is still, proudly, on display here in Sønderborg, Denmark.
‘Can you make me a cello A string?’
The answer was anything but simple but that chance remark led to the creation of Larsen Strings. The first Larsen cello A was successfully delivered from the family garage by our founder Laurits Th. Larsen and the Larsen family of strings began to grow along with the realisation that:
Although some of the best things happen by chance we can make them truly remarkable by design.

Our Design and Development Process
A key element of our creative process is working with musicians, one to one, testing string prototypes. For example, Maria Kliegel is a professor at the Cologne Academy of Music and we met up with her at the Bürgermeisterhaus in Essen, Germany to talk strings. The responses and insights gained from artists directly influences the formulation of new designs with the final creative phase being part of the audience at live performance.

“Our mission is to produce strings that allow musicians to express nuances in musical expression that close the distance between the composer and audience.”
