About Julia
Prize winner of prestigious violin competitions including the David Oistrakh, Carl Flesch and Johannes Brahms, Julia Turnovsky made her debut as a soloist at the age of 13 with the Southwest German Philharmonic Konstanz.
Since then, she has collaborated with a variety of esteemed orchestras, such as the Japan Century Symphony Orchestra, Prague Chamber Philharmonic, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Salzburg, and the North German Philharmonic Rostock.
Her solo and chamber music performances have taken her to renowned festivals like the Prague Spring Festival, Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Haydn Festival Eisenstadt, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. Additionally, she has performed in prestigious concert halls including the Vienna Konzerthaus and Musikverein, Mozarteum Salzburg, Rudolfinum Prague and Philharmonie Luxembourg.
As a chamber musician, Julia has shared the stage with distinguished artists such as Jacques Ammon, Ettore Causa, Julia Hagen, Daniel Hope, Julian Rachlin, Matthias Schorn and Candida Thompson.
She studied violin under Prof. Boris Kuschnir at the Music and Arts Private University of Vienna and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz before continuing her education in viola with Prof. Gerhard Marschner at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
