Xiaomu Fang plays a fine c. 1870 Luigi Fabris cello kindly loaned to her by the Stretton Society through the HK Phil String Instruments Circle. She performs with Larsen Sovereign for cello.

“I was absolutely astonished by the new Sovereign strings! As soon as Dr Thomas Zwieg changed the Sovereign C string for me, it immediately opened up the sound of the whole cello, with amazing depth, warmth, and exceptionally strong projection!

Then, as he changed the strings one by one, the sound simply blossomed to its fullest potential. They responded immediately to both the subtlest and the most intense expressions!”
